Kris
Lewandoski, CPT, NFPT

"Athlete
development is a complex equation of psychological, physical, and
skill enhancement. Understanding the components of performance is
essential to athlete development. From flexibility to dynamic strength
training, integrating each component develops the athlete as one controlled,
explosive, functional unit, leading to enhanced performance in sport."
President and Director of Performance at the Sport Performance institute,
and a professional member of the National Strength and Conditioning
Association (NSCA), Kris earned his Exercise Science degree from John
Carroll University while playing varsity football for the Blue Streaks.
Prior to creating Optimum Fitness Systems, Inc. in 1998, he spent
time with the Cleveland Indians and is currently a performance consultant
for University of Akron Softball, Premier Soccer Academies, and several Ohio high schools.
Specializing in athlete development, Kris trains various athletes
which include Jim Thome, Joe Inglett, 4x WPSL All-Star Amy Kyler, professional
strongmen, minor league players, and elite soccer players. Kris currently
lives in Newbury, OH with his wife, Lori, and his three children. |
Josh Mekota, CSCS
A graduate of Miami of Ohio where he has a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Health, with a concentration in Exercise Science/Physiology, Josh is a Performance Specialist at SPi. Working with SPi for over 2 years, Josh has trained and guided top level high school, collegiate, and professional athletes. Furthermore, he is a nationally Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-C.S.C.S). Josh brings excellent leadership, knowledge, and expertise in enhancing human performance to the SPi team. Josh currenty resides in Newbury, OH and attended Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin high school where he was a varsity basketball and baseball player.

Chris Short
As a performance specialist with SPi, Chris brings experience from the highest level soccer development and performance to the SPi team. A former 12yr veteran of professional soccer player in England (Sheffield United and Stoke City), Chris has spent the last four years working in the English Premier League as a sports massage therapist and performance specialist (Derby County, Blackburn Rovers, Sheffield United). In England he has acquired National Diplomas in Sports Massage Therapy, Strength and Conditioning, and Sports Nutrition. He is currently in his
3rd year of Bsc in Biomechanics and Sports Science from Manchester Met University, England.
UEFA B Soccer coaching License. A demonstration of training and preparation, in 2006 Chris rowed across the English Channel from England to France in a Pacific rowing boat for charity. Chris is happily married to his wife Stacey and is currently a resident coach at Premier Soccer Academies. |
